Recess:
Please note that now the weather has changed to be sending students prepared for the playground. Recess is much more fun when you are prepared. Let me know if you need assistance in getting winter clothing for your child.
Our current recess policy is: --students will wear coats to recess (up to student whether or not they keep it on outside)
--boots not required until we have snow. (if no boots, must stay on blacktop)
--snowpants not required
--if playing in snow, students must have gloves or mittens
--if cold, cannot come back in for hats, gloves, etc.
--if 10 or below (including windchill)...we don’t go out (indoor recess).

Science: It was great fun watching them come up with a problem to solve with a magnet. I hope they shared their projects with you at home and challenged you to solve the problem. We are tackling our first major inquiry task by studying magnetic strength. We have learned about fair tests, using a data chart, graphing, and how to read a graph. |
Mystery Student:
3S has been working on identifying kindness happening to us and by us. Each day a student is chosen as the Mystery Student. No one knows who this will be. At the end of the day we open the envelope, and the mystery student identifies another student that has been kind to them that day, and then they award them with a Wildcat Kindness paw that we created. It is causing excitement at the end of the day and it is really nice to hear about the kind things they are doing for each other.
